Will the invite link expire?
Only if you set an expiration when creating it. Default Discord invites expire after 7 days or 100 uses, whichever comes first, they'll silently break printed QRs. Always create a permanent invite (Server Settings → Invites → Create New → Expire: Never, Max uses: No limit). Print only after verifying the permanent invite is set.
Does the QR open the Discord app?
If Discord is installed on the scanning phone, the discord.gg/xxxxx URL deep-links into the app with the Join Server screen visible. If Discord isn't installed, the URL opens in the mobile browser at discord.com/invite/xxxxx, which loads the Discord web client and prompts the user to sign in or create an account.
