Logo QR Code

Free QR Code Generator with Logo — Add Your Brand

Make a QR code with logo in the middle and keep it scanning. Upload a PNG or SVG, size it with the slider, and EZQR raises error correction to Q automatically so the scanner can rebuild the modules your mark covers. No watermark on any plan.

Quick answer

A QR code with a logo places your brand mark over the centre of the pattern, where the error-correction data can reconstruct what the logo hides. To make one, enter your content, upload a PNG or SVG logo, keep it at or below 25% of the code width, set error correction to Q or H, and download a PNG, SVG, or PDF. Free, no watermark.

About Logo QR Codes

A QR code with logo is an ordinary QR code with your brand mark placed over the centre. It works because of Reed-Solomon error correction: every QR carries redundant copies of its own data, so a scanner can rebuild the modules your logo covers. That is the whole mechanism. Nothing about the logo is encoded — it is a picture sitting on top of a pattern that can afford to lose some of itself.

The practical question is how much it can afford to lose. Error correction level L recovers about 7% of the code, M about 15%, Q about 25%, and H about 30%. Those percentages describe the *data*, not the picture, which is why the common advice to "keep the logo under 30%" is misleading. Covering 30% of the visual area destroys far more than 30% of the recoverable data once you account for where the logo sits.

The rule that survives contact with a real print run: keep the logo at or below 25% of the code width, set error correction to Q or H, and never let it touch the three corner squares. Everything else is preference.

How to Create a Logo QR Code

  1. Enter your content

Open the generator and pick what the code should do — a URL, Wi-Fi credentials, a contact card, or any of the 50+ content types. Static codes need no account.

  2. Upload your logo

Add a PNG or SVG. A transparent PNG or a vector SVG gives the cleanest result; a JPG with a white box around it will look like a white box. Keep the logo at or below 25% of the code width.

  3. Raise error correction to Q or H

The logo covers modules, so the code needs spare data to rebuild them. Level Q recovers about 25%, level H about 30%. Q is the sensible default for print; H is worth the extra density on anything that will be scuffed, curved, or scanned at an angle.

  4. Test, then export

Scan it with at least two phones — an iPhone and an Android — from about arm’s length before you commit to a print run. Then download PNG free, or SVG and print-ready PDF on the Lite plan ($5/mo) and up.

Logo QR Code FAQ

Common questions about generating, printing, and deploying these codes.

Can you put a company logo on a QR code?

Yes — a company logo on a QR code is the standard case, and the centre is the correct place for it. The finder patterns live in three of the four corners, so the middle is the only large region that carries no positioning data. Keep it at or below 25% of the code width and raise error correction to Q or H, and the scanner rebuilds the covered modules from the redundant data.

Does adding a logo break the QR code?

Not if you stay inside the budget. Every QR carries redundant copies of its data — level Q recovers about 25% and level H about 30%. A logo destroys modules and the error correction rebuilds them. It breaks when the logo is oversized, when it covers a corner finder pattern, or when error correction was left at L or M.

How big can the logo be?

At or below 25% of the code’s width is the reliable ceiling. Be careful with the common "30% rule" — 30% of the *data* is not 30% of the *picture*. A logo covering 30% of the visual area removes far more than 30% of the recoverable data, which is why codes built to that reading fail in the field.

Is the logo actually encoded in the QR code?

No. The logo is a separate image placed on top of the finished pattern. Scanners never read it — they read around it. This is why the logo can be any shape or colour, and also why it can only ever subtract from the code rather than add to it.

Can I make a free QR code with logo?

Yes. Logo upload, colour, and dot style are free on EZQR with no account and no watermark on any plan, and PNG export is free. SVG and print-ready PDF export start on the Lite plan at $5/mo.
