Mobilo is the cheapest option here, which contradicts how it is usually described
Mobilo gets written up as the enterprise smart-card vendor, the premium metal-card option, the one you buy when budget is not the constraint. Its published entry price is $3 per month.
That is the cheapest subscription in this comparison and cheaper than most of the category. Uniqode digital business cards start at $6 per user per month. Blinq Premium is $9.99 monthly. Mobilo Pro undercuts both while including unlimited taps, unlimited leads and contacts, lead capture and enrichment, brandable QR codes, analytics, a paper card scanner, 6,000 Zapier integrations and 24/7 support.
We are correcting our own earlier writing here. A previous version of our four-way comparison described Mobilo as having no meaningful free tier and cards at roughly $40 or more, which framed it as the expensive choice. The hardware figure was in range; the framing was wrong, because it left out that the subscription is the cheapest published rate in the category. Checked against Mobilo's own pricing page on 16 August 2026.
Verified pricing, side by side
Disclosure: EZQR is a QR code generator. We do not sell NFC cards and are not a competitor on the card product. Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked 16 August 2026.
Read the seat minimums as carefully as the prices. Mobilo's cheapest headline tier is its single-user plan, and its Business tier requires 100 seats, so the ladder is not a smooth progression.
| Mobilo | Beaconstac (Uniqode) | |
|---|---|---|
| Core product | NFC smart cards | QR platform; cards are a module |
| Entry plan | Pro — $3/mo, single user | Team — $6/user/mo, annual |
| Mid tier | Teams — $4/mo annual, unlimited members | Business+ — custom |
| Top tier | Business — $5/mo annual, 100+ seats | Business+ — custom |
| Free tier | Not published | 1 digital business card |
| Monthly billing | Yes, on Pro | No — annual only |
| Hardware | $19.99–$139 (promo from $5) | Optional, sold separately |
| Separate QR product | No | Yes — from $9/mo annual |
| Enterprise controls | SSO, HR directory sync, custom domain | Microsoft Entra ID, invoice billing |
What the Mobilo ladder actually costs
The tiers look close together and behave very differently.
Pro at $3/month is the single-user plan and carries most of the features people actually use: unlimited taps, lead capture and enrichment, brandable QR codes, analytics, Zapier, custom lead forms, a free digital wallet card and email signatures. For one person, this is the whole product at the lowest price in the category.
Teams at $4/month billed annually adds central billing, team management, a custom landing page and onboarding, with unlimited team members. The jump from Pro is a dollar and the addition is administrative rather than functional.
Business at $5/month billed annually adds HR directory sync, enterprise SSO and a custom domain, and requires 100 or more seats. That minimum is the real gate. A 20-person company wanting SSO cannot buy this tier at any price, which is exactly the situation where Uniqode's Business+ custom pricing becomes the alternative worth a call.
Hardware is separate and ranges from $19.99 for a Mobilo-branded card to $139 for metal or Paper Plus, with promotional pricing from $5 to $29.99 when bundled with a Pro or Teams trial that includes 90 days free. Budget the cards as a one-off per person on top of the subscription.
What Uniqode does that Mobilo does not
QR codes as a first-class product. That is the entire difference, and for the right buyer it outweighs the price gap completely.
Mobilo makes brandable QR codes for sharing your card. Uniqode runs a QR platform: dynamic codes, scan analytics, bulk generation, campaign management, retargeting. If your marketing team already puts codes on packaging, print or event signage, Uniqode covers both jobs under one login and one invoice while Mobilo covers one of them.
Uniqode also brings the procurement apparatus — Microsoft Entra ID, invoice billing, 24/7 support, a published 99.99% uptime commitment and a 30-day money-back guarantee — and it does not impose a 100-seat floor to reach enterprise features. A 25-person company that needs SSO has a path at Uniqode and does not at Mobilo.
The cost is annual-only billing on everything, and paying for a QR platform you may not use if cards are genuinely all you want.
The rebrand behind the confusing search results
Beaconstac rebranded to Uniqode in January 2024, retiring a name that referenced beacon hardware the company had moved beyond.
Accounts, codes and analytics survived the change, and the login moved to uniqode.com. Comparison articles and review sites still use both names interchangeably, which is why a search for either returns pages titled with the other.
Worth raising without endorsing: some users migrating through the rebrand reported downgraded benefits and price increases, with lifetime analytics access the most cited. Those are user accounts rather than company statements and we have not verified them. If analytics retention is part of your decision, ask Uniqode for the retention window on the exact tier you are considering and get it in writing before signing an annual contract.
How to choose
Three questions settle it.
Do you need QR codes beyond sharing a card? If yes, Uniqode, and the price difference stops mattering. If no, Mobilo is cheaper and more focused.
How many seats, and do you need SSO? Under 100 seats needing SSO, Mobilo cannot sell it to you and Uniqode Business+ can. Over 100, Mobilo Business at $5 per month is hard to beat on price.
Do you want to pay monthly? Mobilo Pro allows it. Uniqode does not, on any plan.
Tips
- Price the hardware into year one. A $3 subscription plus a $39 card is a $75 first year, not a $36 one.
- Check the 90-day free trial terms on Mobilo card purchases before assuming the promotional card price applies.
- If you need SSO under 100 seats, get Uniqode Business+ quoted rather than assuming Mobilo scales down.
- Confirm which CRMs are native versus Zapier-mediated. Mobilo leans on Zapier, which is capable and is another subscription.
The 100-seat cliff, and who falls off it
Mobilo's tier ladder has a discontinuity that catches mid-size companies, and it is the single most important thing to check before shortlisting.
Pro at $3 and Teams at $4 are available to anyone. Business at $5 requires 100 or more seats, and Business is where enterprise SSO, HR directory sync and the custom domain live. There is no path to those features below the threshold at any price.
Work out what that means concretely. A 40-person company that needs SSO because IT mandates it for every SaaS purchase cannot buy Mobilo Business. It can buy Teams at $4, which has no SSO, and then fail the security review. The cheapest subscription in the category becomes unavailable on a requirement that has nothing to do with price.
Uniqode does not have that shape. Business+ is custom-priced rather than seat-gated, so a 40-person company needing Entra ID integration has a conversation available to it. The quote may well exceed $5 per seat. The difference is that it exists.
The practical test: write down whether SSO or directory sync is a hard requirement. If yes and you are under 100 seats, Mobilo is out regardless of the price advantage, and the comparison you actually need is Uniqode Business+ against Blinq Enterprise.
Budgeting hardware properly
A $3 subscription with a $39 card is not a $36 first year. Getting this arithmetic right changes which platform looks cheaper.
Mobilo cards run from $19.99 for the branded option through $39 for Custom Classic, $59 for wood and $139 for metal or Paper Plus. Promotional pricing brings those down substantially when bundled with a Pro or Teams purchase that carries 90 days free, taking the branded card to around $5 and metal to around $20. Confirm the current promotion terms rather than assuming, because bundle offers change and the promotional price usually depends on buying the subscription alongside.
Run the real numbers for a team of ten on Teams at $4 per month annually. Subscription is $480 for the year. Ten Custom Classic cards at $39 is $390, or $100 at the promotional $10. Year one lands somewhere between $580 and $870 depending on the card and the promotion; year two drops to $480 because the cards are already bought.
The same ten people on Uniqode Team at $6 per user per month is $720 a year, every year, with cards sold separately if you want them at all. Mobilo is cheaper in both years on subscription alone, and the gap widens over time as the one-off hardware cost amortises. That is the honest read, and it is the opposite of how Mobilo is usually positioned.
Where each one earns its price
Both products are competent. They are built for different buyers, and the failure mode is buying the one built for someone else.
Mobilo earns its money on cost-per-seat at scale and on hardware range. If you have 100+ people, want metal or wood cards, and need SSO with directory sync, $5 per user per month with a custom domain is a strong position that nothing else in this comparison matches on price. The Zapier integration surface covers 6,000 apps, which is broad, and it is worth checking whether your specific CRM is native or Zapier-mediated, because that difference shows up in reliability rather than in the feature list.
Uniqode earns its money on breadth. It is the only one of the two that also runs QR code campaigns, which is the whole reason a marketing team would look at it, and it is the only one offering enterprise controls without a seat floor. The 30-day money-back guarantee and 24/7 support are procurement-friendly in a way a $3 plan usually is not.
The overlap where you genuinely have to choose is narrower than it looks: a team of 100+ that needs SSO and does not run QR campaigns. Everywhere else, one of the two is clearly wrong for structural reasons rather than price.
Where a free vCard QR beats both
If the real job is putting your name, phone and email into someone's phone, neither subscription is required. A vCard QR code does that for $0 and does not stop.
The reason is structural. A vCard QR encodes the contact fields inside the module pattern, so nothing is hosted and nothing can lapse. Scanning opens the phone's native Save Contact dialog with every field filled, on iOS and Android, with no app on either side. It behaves the same in ten years because the data is in the ink rather than on a server. That is the same property that makes a static code never expire.
The trade is genuine. No lead capture, no CRM sync, no analytics, no NFC tap, no designed profile. Mobilo's lead enrichment and Zapier pipeline are real features doing real work for sales teams, and a QR code does not replace them.
For everyone else — the consultant, the freelancer, the person who wants to stop spelling their email at events — the free option is the honest answer. Print it on the back of a normal paper card and the job is done.
The verdict in one paragraph
Mobilo is cheaper. Uniqode is broader. Seat count and SSO decide which of those matters.
Under 100 seats with no SSO requirement, Mobilo Pro at $3 or Teams at $4 is the best price in this category and it is not close. Buy the cards on promotion. Budget them as a one-off.
Over 100 seats, Mobilo Business at $5 adds SSO, directory sync and a custom domain, and still undercuts everything else here.
Under 100 seats *with* an SSO requirement, Mobilo cannot sell to you at any price. That is the cliff. Uniqode Business+ is the conversation instead, and Blinq Enterprise is the third quote worth getting.
If you also run QR campaigns, stop comparing on price. Uniqode does both jobs and Mobilo does one. And if the real need is just contact details reaching a phone, a free vCard QR settles it for nothing.
